Randstad Defence is proud to be working with a Canberra based Australian government business enterprise in the search for a Bids and Contracts Manager to join their highly successful team. This role will be responsible for the proposal, tender and contact negotiation activities, leading a team of 6 highly specialised commercial professionals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proposal & Negotiation Oversight: Managing the entire proposal lifecycle, from planning and resource allocation to final submission and progress reporting. This involves working closely with the Bids and Contracts team to ensure accurate task completion, quality & consistency including scheduling and price reviews.

  • Contract Coordination: Guaranteeing a streamlined and consistent approach to bid responses and contract negotiations across the company.

  • Executive Reporting: Developing and maintaining crucial financial plans, such as the Five-Year Sales Plan and Order Intake (IO) budget, primarily using Excel. This also involves coordinating contract negotiation activities, leading the team when necessary, and preparing comprehensive reports and approval requests for the Executive, CEO, and Board.


About You
  • NV1 Security Clearance (must have a baseline minimum)
  • Experience in complex project and/or commercial management within the Defence environment (industry and/or government)
  • Knowledge of ASDEFCON contract suite.
  • High level contract negotiation skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Legal/Commerce/Business or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to positively influence and negotiate effective outcomes
